Detail Description

The image capture program is designed for acquiring of digital images from microscopes equipped with digital cameras, editing, annotating and saving of acquired images and measurements. This program is designed for use in all microscopic fields.

 

The program is equipped with many image editing functions as well as with functions for measuring of dimensions and insertion of calibrated scale bar.

 

Using the built-in Timer module it is possible to acquire images in a predefined time interval. The built-in Time-Lapse Video module enables to create HD video files from the time-lapse captured images.

Basic image capture software main features overview:

•Image acquisition from a wide range of imaging devices  (microscopic digital cameras, digital SLR cameras, analog cameras, scanners)

•Live view on a computer screen (facilitates focusing and can be used for demonstration purposes)

•Measurements in acquired images: insertion of a calibrated scale bar, measuring of dimensions (line segment tool)

•Measurements in a live view: insertion of a calibrated scale bar, measuring of dimensions

•Measured values are displayed in a well-arranged table with basic statistics. Particular measurements can be annotated. Measured values can be exported (optionally with the image with measuring objects) to a Microsoft® Excel® file or a text file.

•Advanced functions for saving of multiple images at once

•Option to automatically save acquired images to a predefined folder

•Support for zooming units, magnification changer units and magnification encoders  (devices for automatic determination of currently used microscope magnification)

•Image editing functions, indication and annotation of interesting areas of the image, image descriptions

•Automatic time-lapse image capturing with the options to control computer controlled illuminators and time-lapse HD video creation

RECORD IT optional module: It is intended for real time video recording from digital and analog imaging devices. For example a microscopic experiment, grow of a cell colony, endoscopic or ultrasonographic examination can be recorded using the RECORD IT module.


High Dynamic Range (HDR) optional module: allows you to see the entire dynamic range of your microscopic or stereomicroscopic samples. Traditional non-HDR digital cameras can only provide a fraction of a samples luminosity. Information in darker parts of the image are lost as well as information in saturated or extremely bright areas of the sample. Microphotographs with a limited exposure range result in the loss of detail in highlights or shadows. The module can be used for creation of HDR images of static samples acquired using microscopes, for macro images as well as for standard photography.


Deep Focus is a so called "z-stacking" or "EDF - Extended Depth of Field" optional module: creates images, which are COMPLETELY IN-FOCUS, which cannot be achieved by a standard use of microscopes, bacause of their limited depth of field. Deep Focus module can be used with stereomicroscopes as well as with other types of optical microscopes for observation in transmitted or reflected light. The module is also suitable for macro-imaging. The whole process can be automated using motorized focusing microscope stand.
